What do China, France and California have in common? They've all been the scene for a 458 Italia fire.
In each instance, the fire reportedly broke out while the car was being driven by the owner on public roads. In each of the three Ferrari 458 Italia incidents, the fire was not the consequence of a collision, as has been the case of some previous F430 crashes. Last month, a 458 Italia with a custom $100,000 Dolce and Gabbana interior was destroyed in a warehouse fire in London. The car wasn't the cause of that fire, just a casualty.Naturally, so many fires in a short period of time has raised some concern over the situation and a Telegraph report has now sourced a Ferrari of Great Britain representative who claims the Italian automaker is looking into the claims."We are taking all the reports very seriously and are looking into them, but are treating them all as separate incidents," the spokesman said.So far, at least six Ferrari 458 Italias have also been victims of crashes -- a fate not necessarily unexpected as owners get behind the wheel 562-horsepower exotics for the first time.Source: The Telegraph courtesy of Automobile Magazine Staff
