With a noticeable lack of pure electric vehicles from major OEMs, various start-ups have begun to pop up with their own ideas about how to build the electric car, with varying degrees of success.

The newest company to the party is Coda Automotive, a new EV brand from Miles Electric Vehicles that features the Coda sedan, a compact $45,000 electric car for the masses.
