General Motors has made it quite clear that it wants to shed its Saturn division.
Now it is being reported that Roger Penske is interested in buying the brand. Penske is president of Penske Automotive Group. The company operates more than 300 franchises across the country and internationally which sell 40 different brands of vehicles.
Penske said that his plan is not to sell Saturn vehicles but to use its distribution channel to sell other brands.It is also said that a Ohio investment group is interested in acquiring Saturn. Reports say that representatives of this group have met with Saturn execs to discuss the idea of making vehicles using union workers at plants scheduled to be closed.
