Today, we celebrate our Independence Day! Although we're not strapped in to F-18s and about to save the world from ill-intentioned alien visitors like in the 1996 film, Independence Day, today marks the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 that declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain and marked the official beginning of the great and free country that we know today.

Our humble little blog will be silent today as we observe and celebrate one of the most important events in American history. Family fun, fireworks, good food and cold drinks are to be enjoyed freely tonight, but try to stay safe and don't forget you're very lucky to be living in this great country. Cheers!
