This Friday is the 2009 TTxGP Motorcycle Grand Prix, but there are plans for big changes next season, and regarding cars not bikes. Azhar Hussain, head race coordinator, plans to have eco-friendly single-seat and everyday street cars compete in next years event.

When the TTxGP Motorcycle Grand Prix first kicked-off last year there were hardly any electric motorcycle companies on the market. In that one year, there are now 18 full motorcycle teams ready for Friday’s event, with names the like of Evo Design, Brammo, Mission One, and MotoCzyszk motorcycles.

So now the organizers are looking ahead to next year - when they plan to have cars and not just bikes compete in the green GP. Tesla Motors is among those interested in participating.
