First came the 6-cylinder Lambda engine. Now Hyundai has revealed the specs of its more tuner-friendly Theta 4-cylinder engine along with the full performance figures for the Genesis coupe. (Engine builders, start gearing up - Hyundai's new 2.0 turbo will be a fun engine to get at.)
Hyundai's Theta 2.0-liter turbo produces 223 horsepower in Korea on premium fuel and 210 horsepower on regular. More importantly for us thought, Stateside it will be rated at 210hp @ 6000rpm. Don't mind the slightly lower numbers -- U.S. emissions restrictions and other fun-police mandates have brought the thrills down a bit, but tuners will be quick to get it right back, and some. My guess is to look for horsepower figures easily within the 300's within the first year of the car being available if you plan on going the aftermarket (but warranty-voiding) route.Source: World Car fans
