Ford is cutting back on part time jobs at the Chicago Plant in order to stabalize itself financially.

600 part time jobs have been targeted and an uncertain number of hourly and salaried employees will also feel the pain of being unemployed.

Ford says the drop to one shift comes because of dramatically falling sales. This week, the company reported sales in August fell more than 26 percent from the same month last year.
