New Mustang Logo Hints at Styling Changes

Check it out, Ford has decided to tease us with pictures of the updated pony logo that will grace all 2010 Mustangs.

A side-by-side comparison reveals a stronger, faster-looking pony with sharper, more defined edges. A raised head with swept-back ears are complimented by a fiercer mane that makes the muscular, chiseled horse look sleeker and meaner. The tinted-chrome finish gives the badge a darker, more menacing look. If the tinted-chrome finish isn't quite mean enough for you, Ford will also offer a black-chrome finish for the first time, only on Mustang GTs.

"We wanted to give the Mustang pony a more realistic feel," said Douglas Gaffka, chief designer for the 2010 Mustang. "We lifted the head to make the pony more proud, tipped the neck into the wind to give it a feeling of greater speed and better balance. It's more chiseled and more defined and looks more like a wild horse."

Wondering what the 2010 Ford Mustang will actually look like? Ford says the badge gives a hint at styling changes to come.
