When reading about supercar rental agencies or automotive fantasy camps, where drivers spend a day taking turns behind the wheel of various high-priced exotics, do you ever wonder what would happen if some poor soul found his supercar a bit too much to handle and totaled it? Well this should give you a pretty good idea -- apparently a group recently rented a fleet of supercars for a wedding in England, but after a little too much celebrating one driver accidentally plowed his Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder into a tree.
According to a report in The Sun, the Gallardo was one of several exotics rented by some friends attending a wedding, along with two other Lambos and a Bentley Continental GTC convertible. After the reception (so they were no doubt totally sober) the group visited the nearby Cider House pub in Wooton for some more refreshments, bragging to the locals that they had rented the hot rides for 5000 GBP apiece and already taken them up to 160 mph. But just in case the locals didn't understand just how supremely awesome they were, the gang then hopped back in the supercars to rev the engines and do some donuts before pulling away. According to one witness at the pub "you could hear the noise of the engines coming down the road. They pulled into the car park and were showing off revving and red-lining."
However when the group finally had enough, they ran into a little trouble. Peeling away at wide-open-throttle, just 600 yards away the driver of the lead Lambo lost control of his 513 horsepower whip and flew off the road, hitting a tree and leaving the car smashed and impossible to drive. The same witness said he saw the group standing around the car "taking bits off and sitting in it," then before the cops reached the scene the (apparently) unhurt driver hopped in another ride and took off, leaving the wrecked supercar lying abandoned in the road. According to local police the group has yet to come forward, and they are actively trying to trace track down the Anthony Hamilton impersonator and his friends. Of course when the gang goes to return their rides and are one $195,000 Italian exotic short, here's guessing the rental agency will probably notice.
